Fifth Avenue Apartment I

This pre-war apartment on Manhattan’s Upper East Side is home to a couple with two young children. The family business collaborates with well-known contemporary artists to create works in a variety of media. The intent of this renovation was to provide a distinctly domestic container to showcase the family’s art collection — in contrast to the minimalist look of commercial galleries. Here the colors, materials and furnishings jostle with the art in much the same manner that an animated family lives together.
