This small house is on a narrow lot within the highly regulated historic district of a village on the east end of Long Island, New York. The mature Owners have a large historic house without either a ground-level bedroom or ground-level full bathroom, yet the Owners want to age in place in the small village community that they love. When a neighboring house became available, the Owners purchased it with the idea of creating a smaller retirement home on this adjacent site while keeping their historic house for family use.
